HOW SPOT WORKS

• GPS satellites provide coordinates.
• SPOT messenger’s onboard GPS chip determines your GPS coordinates and sends your location and message to the SPOT satellite system.

• Satellite antennas and supporting equipment route your message and location to the appropriate network.

ALERT 911:

For critical emergencies, a distress signal will be sent every 5 minutes until cancelled and emergency responders will be dispatched to your GPS location.

CHECK IN :

Let your contacts know all is well, or save waypoints for review at a later date. A user-programmable message, as well as your GPS location with a link to Google Maps™, will be sent to your contacts via text and/or email.

(HELP):

For non-life-threatening situations, SPOT will automatically determine your coordinates and send your help message, as well as your GPS location with a link to Google Maps™, via text message and/or email every 5 minutes for 1 hour.

Up to 200 annual Check-In or Help text messages to any mobile phone, worldwide, are included in the plan.

Additional text messages cost € 0.10 for message.

TRACK PROGRESS:

€39.00 year tracking upgrade option: - Send your GPS location to your SPOT account every 10 minutes for 24 hours so your contacts can follow your progress in real time, or to save waypoints so you can view your full route at a later date.
